Robert Morcos, founder and CEO of Hollywood-based tech company Social Mobile, has been named a 2025 Florida winner of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur Of The Year award, a national honor recognizing the visionaries behind the most transformative businesses in the country.
Morcos and nine other Florida winners will now go on to compete with other regional winners in the national Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025 awards. The national winner, who will be announced at EY’s Strategic Growth Forum in Palm Springs in November, will then represent the U.S. at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year competition in 2026.
Founded in 2011, Social Mobile has become a global leader in enterprise mobility solutions. The company, a Google Android Enterprise Gold partner, provides custom Android-based IoT solutions for clients in sectors like healthcare, transportation, defense, and retail, overseeing all aspects of device development, including design, manufacturing, deployment and lifecycle management.
Now with about 100 employees, mainly in South Florida but also globally, Social Mobile has deployed more than 15 million devices deployed worldwide and maintains a global footprint with offices and logistics hubs in key international markets, including India and China. In recent years, the company expanded its South Florida HQ and has ranked high on multiple INC 5000 lists.
Morcos was selected by an independent panel of past recipients and top business leaders and honored for his entrepreneurial spirit, long-term value creation, and the growing impact of his company across industries. The judges highlighted Social Mobile’s rapid innovation in enterprise mobility and its strong commitment to purpose-driven growth.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by EY among so many visionary leaders,” said Morcos, in a statement. “This award is a testament to the relentless dedication of the Social Mobile team and our commitment to delivering innovative enterprise mobility solutions that empower organizations across healthcare, retail, defense, and beyond.”
Morcos, an entrepreneurial youth who employed the neighborhood kids in a car wash company at age 8 and flipped cellphones throughout high school, bootstrapped Social Mobile, transforming it into a go-to solution provider for some of the world’s largest enterprises. “We design the strategic solutions that improve the security and guarantee them a simplified path to scalability. We offer a partnership, not a product, and for that reason we find ourselves being able to attract large clientele,” Morcos said in a previous interview with Refresh Miami.
Other tech-focused EY Florida winners from South Florida include Tim Hentschel and John Prince of HotelPlanner.com (West Palm Beach) and Ernesto Aguilar of Ardurra (Miami). Past National winners of The Entrepreneur Of The Year program, now in its 40th year, have included Reed Hoffman and Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn, Howard Schultz of Starbucks Coffee Company, James Park of Fitbit, and Eric Yuan of Zoom, to name a few.
Morcos’ company has also made news this month: Social Mobile signed a letter of intent to acquire California-based Sonim Technologies for up to $20 million. The transaction is expected to close in Q4.
