ARKHAUS acquires solar-electric yacht builder Arkup, forming The Ark Companies

What began as a floating social club off the coast of Miami has now evolved into a full-fledged tech hospitality ecosystem with global ambitions. Last Friday, ARKHAUS announced its official transition into The Ark Companies, an umbrella of three symbiotic startups: ARKHAUS, E-LIXR, and Arkup, working together to propel maritime innovation into a zero-emission future.

The transition came following its acquisition of Arkup, a designer and manufacturer of solar-electric, livable yachts. By acquiring Arkup, co-founders Sam Payrovi and Nathalie Paiva [pictured above] are uniting design, manufacturing, and operations under one roof. This means they can continue to evolve ARKHAUS’ water experience for years to come, quickly and efficiently.

“Because we have full control, we can accelerate the production of the club and its expansion not only domestically but also internationally,” Payrovi shared in a video update.

To accelerate its next chapter, The Ark Companies has launched a public investment campaign on WeFunder. Funds raised will go toward completing ARKHAUS Miami, expanding vessel production, and launching new floating destinations in cities like New York, San Francisco, Newport Beach, and beyond.

ARKHAUS Miami, the first social club in the portfolio, is already gaining traction. Founding memberships sold out early to a wave of entrepreneurs, creatives, and innovators who want an off-grid luxury experience with a purpose-driven mission like sustainability.

Each ARKHAUS vessel is 100% solar-powered, equipped with electric propulsion, and built to exist in harmony with its surrounding marine environment. The company collaborates with marine regeneration groups to transform each club into an eco-conscious destination, setting a new standard for how we connect, live, and recharge on the water.

Payrovi and Paiva plan to launch the first commercial vessel by the end of this year and the second one early next year. “Arkup will not only accelerate production but also help us evolve our product into a world-class product and brand,” Payrovi said.
