Calcalist, considered the Israeli Tech Wall Street Journal, strives to showcase Israeli founders in Miami. The leading business newspaper invites Israeli entrepreneurs to attend, showcase, and network with investors at its Miami Tech & Invest Conference 2024 which will take place November 13-15. Their CEO Noa Tamir, shared with Refresh Miami, what’s to be expected and why Miami was chosen as the next activation point.
About 10 years ago the company held its first conference in San Francisco, which Tamir described as a similar atmosphere to what Miami is experiencing today. “We feel like Miami is starting something new and we want to explore it,” Tamir said.
In the past, Calcalist has held conferences in established and emerging tech hubs around the globe. The team considers Miami a promising city for startups to find new investors and be exposed to new markets because of its strong Latin American presence. “I like this combination that it’s not only the US but also Latin America. It’s a cross-border opportunity for all the startups that are coming,” Tamir said.
On November 14th attendees can expect a diverse lineup of speakers from various industries, emphasizing trending technologies such as AI, real estate, cybersecurity, health, climate tech, defense, and space. Panels and interviews will focus on Miami’s strengths and its future trajectory. Speakers such as Keith Rabois, Managing Director at Khosla Ventures, Amir Eshel, former Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, and Rinat Zilberstein, General Manager of AT&T Israel R&D Center will take the stage to discuss the latest tech innovation. Other local speakers include Melissa Medina, CEO of eMerge Americas, Howard Lerman, founder of Roam, Peter Yared, CEO of InCountry, Garry Fatakhov, COO of Siemplify, Zohar Dayan, SVP of Product at Vimeo, and Kevin Cochrane, CMO at Vultr.
That same day, founders will be given the spotlight. Each year Calcalist brings 10-20 of Israel’s most promising startups to the conference. These startups have the chance to showcase themselves to investors and make new connections. “We try to help them as much as we can to push them forward, to connect them to the right people that are relevant for them,” Tamir said.
With a focus on cutting-edge technologies, emerging trends, and international collaboration, this conference offers a unique platform for entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders to connect, learn, and drive innovation.
