The BIT Center invites students, faculty, and our Miami Community (non-students) to join us Weds., September 27th, Noon to 1:00pm EST.
RSVP to meet and learn from our guest speaker in person. This event will be held at the BIT Center of MDC Kendall campus.
At the end of the session, Students will,
– Understand the concept of business excellence.
– Understand the meaning of artificial intelligence and its importance for the business world today.
– Familiarize themselves with the AI tools available that are transforming the way we conduct business.
– Become familiar with Dataiku, a world-leading AI platform.
About our Guest Speaker:
Professor Norge Pena Perez is a faculty member in the field of Data Analytics at Miami Dade College, where he instructs a range of courses on Business Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence. Our presenter holds numerous certifications from both academic and industry institutions and serves as a member of the AWS Machine Learning University Advisory Board. Professor Pena Perez is well-regarded for his unwavering dedication to assisting students with their research endeavors, internships, and certification pursuits at MDC.
He holds a BS degree in Physics with a Math Track from Florida International University. Building on this base, he pursued an MBA degree from St. Thomas University. His academic journey then veered towards quantitative expertise with an MS degree in Economics/Finance Track from Florida Atlantic University, followed by a specialized focus on data analytics via an MS in Big Data Analytics from St. Thomas University. Presently, he is a candidate for a DBA(c) in Sports Management-Sports Analytics at St. Thomas University.

The Kendall Campus BIT Center is located in room R447 on the 4th floor of building R. Building R is five-story grey building which would be the first building to see when entering from the SW 107th entrance of the Campus and is labeled the Miguel B. Fernandez Family School of Global Business, Trade and Transportation above the entrance area.

Yhosemar Mendez is the Manager of The Business Innovation & Technology (BIT) Center of MDC Kendall Campus. Yhosemar is an innovation consultant. She initially started consulting for fast consumer goods companies on digital innovation and transformation. Later as self-employed, she started supporting startups by researching their market and testing their products.
