The LAB Miami is teaming up with the YoungArts Foundation to bring the first annual Art Hackathon to Miami, thanks to support from the Knight Arts Challenge.
The event will bring together artists, coders, and innovators together for a weekend-long series of activities to engage and inspire attendees through an intersection of Art and Technology.
The event will feature two main components, which will occur simultaneously: an arts-focused hackathon and live performances. Coders and designers will be tasked with conceptualizing and prototyping apps that make it easier to discover, interact with, or consume art locally. Then to help inspire our techies – and for the entertainment of other visitors – students and alumni from the Young Arts Foundation will be hosting live performances or installations every hour on the hour from 11am-6pm.
The winner of the hackathon will receive a grand prize of $2,500, 1 month of free space at The LAB Miami, and be featured on The LAB Miami website, blog, and newsletter; runner ups will receive free space at The LAB Miami for 1 month and also features on The LAB Miami website, blog, and newsletter.
