Fireside Chat with OfferUp CTO, Ameesh Paleja

Join Refresh Miami and TheVentureCity for a fireside chat with OfferUp Chief Technology Officer, Ameesh Paleja. Ameesh oversees the company’s engineering and data science teams and is responsible for all strategic aspects of the technology organization, including infrastructure, security, product engineering, and architecture. Headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, in August of this year OfferUp announced it was expanding by opening up an engineering office in Miami!
Ameesh Paleja is also the co-founder of Atom Tickets, a social movie ticketing app and website backed by Lionsgate, Disney, Twentieth Century Fox Film and Fidelity Management & Research Company. Its board of advisors includes Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams, Tyler Perry, Dany Garcia and Dwayne Johnson.
Before joining OfferUp, Ameesh was the CTO of Starz and oversaw the modernization of Starz’s technology platform, enabling an international expansion and managing the overhaul of the company’s digital media publishing pipeline. Prior, he spent more than 10 years at Amazon, where he was the founding employee of Amazon’s digital research and development facility in Southern California, managing a team of over 550 employees for products including Amazon Prime Instant Video, Amazon’s Appstore, Cloud Drive, and Kindle.
Ameesh graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and holds 24 patents in digital video and related fields.
Interviewing Ameesh will be 3-time Tech CEO and investor, Mark Kingdon. Mark has been investing in early-stage startups for 15 years and his portfolio includes unicorns Twitter and TheRealReal, Refinery29 , Homelight and OfferUp!
