Come and enjoy a conversation with Joan as she shares her personal path and describes the unique work that Radical Partners is doing to help build Miami’s changemakers. Joan will also highlight Radical Partners’ inspiring and critical campaign to make sure Miami turns out the vote this fall – Vote Miami!
Meet the Speaker
Joan M. Godoy – Executive Director, Radical Partners
Joan Godoy is a resourceful connector by nature. She is the current Executive Director at Radical Partners, a social impact accelerator based in Miami that invests in leaders, engages locals, grows ventures, and designs innovative solutions to collectively make communities stronger. Some of the initiatives they spearhead are Vote Miami, the Strategic Planning Summit, and the 10 Days of Connection. Joan is a Clinical Psychologist, with a master’s degree in International NGOs, and 10 years of international work experience in the social impact sector (Guatemala, The Netherlands, Costa Rica, Chile, and the United States). She is a true believer that success in life should not be measured with the things you obtain, but with the lives you are able to transform. She sits on the Board of the Women’s Fund in Miami, she is one of the co-founders of the Fuckup Nights movement in Miami, and she is an active alumnus of the Global Shapers Community.

Sandra Lafleur – Director of Changemaking Education & Social Innovation – Miami Dade College
In her role at the largest public institution of higher education, Sandra focuses on building and sustaining the College’s social impact education ecosystem. She works with MDC’s eight campus teams to embed changemaking education into both curricular and co-curricular opportunities. Sandra’s past experience in the youth development and college success fields have focused on strategy setting, operational planning, organizational growth and change management, program/product design and execution, innovation and research, talent, and communications. Her past roles include serving as National VP of Program for Summer Search and as National Associate Vice President of Research, Evaluation, and Innovation for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. She currently serves as a national board member for The National Mentoring Partnership and Children’s Literacy Initiative. Locally, she is on the board at the Awesome Foundation Miami and Rising Up Adventures. Sandra earned her MS degree in Sociology from Florida State University and a dual BA degree from the University of Miami in History/Sociology.
