SFSSUG – Manage SQL Workload and Resource Consumption with Resource Governor

September 16, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC-5

Resource Governor allows you to manage SQL Server workloads and resources on incoming requests. This allows you  to provide predictable performance for different workloads on a single instance.  It also allows you to track resource utilization for your different applications or workloads. This session will give you an introduction to resource governor concepts and components. I will walk you through configuring and implementing resource governor.  You will see how you can use resource governor to not only limit resource consumption by a particular application or workload but also how to track resource utilization for chargeback to a particular department or division. Resource governor is an underutilized feature in SQL Server so come learn more about it and how it can help provide a consistent experience for you!
