Introducing Box Box: Miami racing, car culture + tech

By Juha Mikkola – Guest Contributor

We are excited to announce that we are working on a Miami racing, car culture + tech community called Box Box.

With the first-ever Miami GP taking place in Miami this weekend, interest in racing and car culture has never been higher. While interest is at its peak, we realize that traditional car and racing clubs can be intimidating – not to mention expensive. Box Box is here to solve that problem. Think about us as an inclusive and accessible SoHo House membership club for car and race lovers.

Entry to our club will be by NFT and members will be able to mint this  summer.

Racing runs in my family, as my dad was a professional racing driver and my brother drove for many years. When I moved to Miami I started a What’s App group to get racing fans together and watch Formula 1 races, go to car shows, drive go karts and recently even get our kids racing.

What started with two members grew slowly the first few years. Now with the growth of F1’s popularity, thanks to shows like Drive to Survive, our group has grown to over 100 members – with many members coming from the Miami tech community. With Formula 1 coming to town and being here for the next 10 years, we know it’s time to take the community to the next level.

That’s why we are launching Box Box, a community car club for those who love cars and racing like we do. Our vision will allow our members access to a fleet of unique vintage and modern cars that members can use. Picture an awesome hangout space for coworking, hosting events and highlighting all kinds of experiences that relate to past, present and future mobility. We’ll also get the group out to watch and support races in our community — just like we already have nearly 100 community members and their families going to the F1 race this weekend!

To fund the initiative we are going to launch a NFT membership, which will be the first of its kind for a car club in the world – and yet again, putting Miami at the epicenter for web3 innovation. The NFT membership holders will have access to the club and the cars and will be able to vote on cool perks like what cars we buy, what services to add and where to expand next.

We are also looking for great community partners in the mobility and NFT space, so please reach out if you’d like to work with us on this project.

We look forward to seeing you at the race!
