If you aspire to be part of a high-performing, learning-oriented, and caring culture–you have landed on the right company.  Our Sales team is looking for a customer oriented Solution Engineer Executive focused on supporting the development of new business, growing the business within existing customers, and establishing and growing sales opportunities with strategic partners.

This role will report into the Global Head of Sales and maybe based remotely in North America, Asia Pacific or in our headquarters office in Toronto, Canada.

The Professional Services Solutions Engineer (PSSE) will partner with sales executives, account management, customer success, and sales engineering to provide comprehensive  solution and professional services pre-sales support for our leading sports, media, and pay tv operator customers. Experience in consulting services, solution architecture, digital transformation, with strong domain knowledge across cloud, streaming, OTT, and pay tv will serve you well in this impactful role.

The PSSE role will participate and oftentimes lead customer sales meetings, presentations, creative solutions design, customer discovery meetings & business requirements document (BRD) development, and solution engineering workshops. You will also support POCs, RFPs, as well as help lead the drafting of implementation SOWs and BRDs.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Technical and operational sales partner.
  • Professional services & solutions architecture pre-sales systems engineering.
  • Serve as the implementation & solutions services liaison to all supported prospects and customers.
  • Assist in developing SOWs, POCs, and BRDs.
  • Comprehensive solution architecture and design.
  • Lead scoping, cost analysis, and pricing for product deployment, systems integration and professional services.
  • Participate as an integral member of the Sales and Solutions Engineering team to articulate the value of the Quickplay platform, leading overall solution design and the implementation and professional services function.
  • Partner with Sales, Business Development, Product, and Delivery Teams, to devise client oriented solutions for large scale cloud transformation projects  and platform migrations.
  • Document customer technical and business requirements and find creative, repeatable solutions and project implementation services.
  • Deliver on competitive differentiation messages; maintain a working knowledge of competitive solutions and ecosystem partner solutions that can both meet client expectations and help win deals.
  • Financially engineer pricing proposals to accommodate Quickplay accounting needs, customer accounting needs.

Support GTM strategy:

  • Create and maintain the solution ‘story.’ How do we describe the value of our comprehensive solutions and services to our various customer personas? How do each of its features map to a broader narrative and value proposition?
  • Synthesize market intelligence & customer insights – be the expert on our customers, who they are and what segments we serve and be the expert on the competition and the broader market research.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Managed Services & Operations, Professional Services, Marketing and Commercial teams (Sales, Business Development and Customer Success) to align on messaging and go-to-market strategy.
  • Represent and analyze customer needs, the rapidly evolving OTT and pay tv markets and competitive landscape to inform product decisions, partnering, positioning, and go-to-market plans.

About You

  • 10+years in either system integration consulting in the video / media / technology space, or, product management.  product marketing or solution engineering  experience at a Telco,  TV broadcaster or Video solution technology provider.  +++ if Telco and system integration experience.
  • Experience leading large transformations (esp. Broadcast to OTT)  in the OTT Space managing/coordinating multiple vendors.
  • Experience in planning and resource allocations at enterprise level.
  • Technical understanding of the video solution provider marketplace.
  • Strategic thinker with an ability to elevate technical responses behind a strategic, technical and operational narrative.
  • Experience interacting directly with customers and partners.
  • Ability to work well with others and rally teams behind proposals and demos; serve as the quarterback to the technical side of a potential sale.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, ability to work with some ambiguity and comfort working cross functionally.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing time and resources based on business impact.
  • Quick learner and ability to understand technology opportunities and challenges at a business level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and low ego.
