Engineering at Brex

The Engineering team includes Data, IT, Security, and Software, and is responsible for building innovative products and infrastructure for Brex and our customers. We believe that engineers should accelerate the business through technology, and collaborate across multiple teams to accomplish that.

What you’ll do

Technical program managers play a critical role in ensuring high-quality and timely execution across Brex’s Engineering, Data, Security and IT teams. As the lead for the TPM team, you’ll act as the people manager. You’ll shape the north star and vision for the TPM function at Brex, and lead & support the team to that vision. We’re looking for a servant leader who values growing the people on their teams alongside a strong desire to develop collaborative & effective organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-functioning TPM team, evolve the processes we use through introspection, ideation and execution.
  • Set direction for TPM team strategy, sharing context by elaborating the “why”, empowering everyone to achieve their best work, and driving execution of projects while setting clear expectations. 
  • Keep the rest of the company informed on our work through a clear communication strategy.
  • Inspire a collaborative culture and uphold Brex’s values alongside high engineering standards to bring consistency to the codebases, infrastructure, and processes.
  • Build, lead, and grow the team alongside shown commitment to recruiting great talent. Recruiting is everyone’s responsibility at Brex. 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in technical program leadership roles managing individuals on teams.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple stakeholders distributed across product, engineering and science.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with sufficient level of technical capability to effectively communicate with engineers and identify technical risks.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate across multiple time zones.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and experience managing activities across multiple teams.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Jira, Coda, etc.
  • Prior experience managing high-potential employees in a highly technical environment.
