We are looking for an experienced VP of engineering to manage a diverse team of engineers. Ideal candidates will have a background in professional services, and be familiar with the agency delivery model. You will possess excellent leadership abilities to oversee multiple company projects. Your role will include leading a team of developers and engineers, collaborating with product managers, and improving company policies and standards. In this role you are expected to have prior organizational leadership experience, be able to collaborate with team members, and be a strategic problem-solver. Ultimately, a top-notch VP of engineering should demonstrate excellent communication skills, an ability to connect with other engineers and developers, and have a solid foundation in software design.


Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management staff in the department
Oversees the daily workflow of the Engineering Department
Build a best in class team of engineers, with commitment to high quality software development
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Ensures that departmental decisions such as staffing, development, organization, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision
Manage all software engineering schedules, budget and resource allocations


Basic Qualifications Needed:

Provide employee coaching, mentoring, development and team building
Integrating yourself into the business to gain a more fulsome understanding of each teams’ current projects and needs
Provide technical consultation as well as expertise to Product Managers
Stimulate hiring, career plans, training as well as performance reviews for the software engineering team
Communicating the goals of the company to all engineers and professionals in the team
Working with the human resources department by contributing to recruitment activities
Developing standards and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met and consistent.
Identifies, recommends, and implements new technologies and systems to improve organizational processes and decision-making
Head responsibility to analyze, design, develop and support all software application systems.
Assist software development team to attain optimal team performance through removing technical obstacles
Interact with different members to ensure successful delivery of each sprint iteration and product release
Being well versed in calendar management and shifting priorities 


Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in the relevant engineering field
Extensive experience in a professional services firm/ agency
Extensive experience in working with stakeholders to create hiring strategies to develop quality teams
A sound understanding of engineering principles
Passionate about people operations, establishing team rituals, and building a sense of community in our digital by design environment
Strong supervisory skills and leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confident in your decision making and comfortable initiating impactful projects.
Experience in recruiting engineers and contributors
