Globant, a digitally native technology services giant founded in Argentina, has acquired Blankfactor, a Miami-based fintech specialized in payments, banking and capital markets. Blankfactor delivers consulting-led product engineering, data engineering, and enterprise AI solutions. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“Blankfactor brings incredible experiences and best practices within the financial services space, which is a key vertical for Globant. As AI develops and impacts industries, we want to expand Globant’s visions and knowledge in order to provide a continuously evolving service to our clients,” said Martin Migoya, co-founder and CEO of Globant, which also has a growing presence in Miami.
Founded by Michael Wear and Melody Pak, Blankfactor has grown rapidly since its launch in 2016 through strategy-led product engineering with deep vertical knowledge. Blankfactor develops solutions for some of the strongest brands in the financial sector, including six out of the top ten payment processors and many of the world’s largest banks and asset managers. As engineer-consultants specialized in product development, they collaborate with clients to envision, create, and execute product roadmaps.
In 2023, as Blankfactor was rapidly scaling, Wear and Pak were selected as Endeavor Entrepreneurs, joining the organization’s global support network. Endeavor Miami Managing Director Claudia Duran said at the time: “I am confident that they will take their company to even greater heights. Witnessing their multiplier effect in the South Florida ecosystem is something I am eagerly anticipating.”
Today, Blankfactor’s offices in the U.S., U.K., Colombia, Romania, and Bulgaria are home to more than 450 technology professionals. As part of Globant, Wear and Pak will continue at the Blankfactor helm, and Blankfactor management and their respective teams will continue scaling their consulting-led digital execution for the financial services industry.
The publicly traded Globant creates digitally-native products, leveraging its AI expertise. Globant employs 29,100 employees in 33 countries. Its customers include Google, Electronic Arts, and Santander, among others. Globant expanded to Miami in 2021. Globant’s Migoya has been an Endeavor Entrepreneur since 2005.
“I have always admired Globant as a model of execution at scale in digital transformation, with exceptional talent around the world. With the scale and depth of Globant, I’m looking forward to achieving greater outcomes for our clients,” said Wear, in a statement.
