In an era of same-day online purchases and the ability to buy virtually anything you want in most places on planet earth on your phone, it is somewhat remarkable just how much of a pain it is to buy property. Between viewings, inspections, negotiations, and protracted closings, it can easily take months to purchase a property.
Homebourse is trying to change that. The Miami startup, founded by real estate lawyer and tech entrepreneur Istvan Fehervari, makes buying real estate as simple as a few clicks of your mouse.
“I had conversations with hundreds of agents who told me that they had one or two transactions each month where the buyers purchase the property without traveling to visit it,” Fehervari told Refresh Miami. “There is no such platform for these kinds of transactions.”
Directly through Homebourse, buyers can browse properties, view high-quality photos and videos, and request live video tours and inspections. To lock down a property, they can make an offer or even an instant purchase. All that’s required is a 1% refundable deposit, and then buyers are given an eight-day period during which they can change their mind, Fehervari said. Transactions on Homebourse are completely digital.
“The idea came to me in a dream three or four years ago,” Fehervari told Refresh Miami. But this is no longer a dream by any stretch of the imagination. Rather, the platform already has 22,000 listings – a mixture of houses automatically populated through the MLS, other platforms, and sellers themselves.
Since the platform just launched in September, no deals originating on the platform have closed yet. However, Fehervari said that will likely change very soon. Homebourse takes a service fee that is usually 1% of the purchase price.
Homebourse’s core team consists of six full-time employees, five of whom are in South Florida. The additional employee, plus a team of technical contractors, are based in Hungary, Fehervari’s home country. Already, the company has raised $2 million from an angel investor, who is a minority shareholder.

Fehervari, along with his wife and two children, moved to Miami a year ago. In June, Fehervari went all in on developing Homebourse. “I feel strongly that this can be a unicorn, and I don’t see a unicorn coming from Hungary. So I sold or rented out everything that we had and moved here. This was the best decision for the business and for our lifestyle as well.”
“Miami’s tech scene is amazing,” he added. “The way I see it, it’s going to just continue to grow.”
And Hombourse plans to grow right along with it. Fehervari signaled that Homebourse is already working on some AI-powered solutions, plus a mobile app to further disrupt the proptech market.
But Fehervari’s goal is, well, nothing less than world domination. “I want to see the globalization of the real estate industry – that’s the missing link in the industry. At Homebourse, we want to connect all of them and digitize the whole home-buying process.”
