Wyncode was again selected to be part of this summer’s TechHire.Miami initiative, which will provide 1,000 underserved Miami-Dade and Monroe County high school students with free access to the latest technology education.
Wyncode, a technology training academy based in Miami, was chosen to host the web development bootcamps, in which Wyncode will teach a portion of its award-winning Wyncode Full Stack Web Development curriculum. The students are going to learn the latest web development skills like JavaScript, React, HTML and CSS, said Wyncode co-founder Juha Mikkola. All bootcamps will be live online classes, so students from anywhere in Miami-Dade or Monroe County can participate without having to travel or potentially get sick.
“Not only is the program totally free, but eligible participants can get up to $500 just for attending the course and passing the final exam. This is all thanks to a $1.5 million investment from CareerSource South Florida,” said Mikkola. “We couldn’t be more excited to be a partner in this program.”
The six-week Summer Bootcamps will be held June 15 through Aug. 15. Find out more about the TechHire summer program here.
That’s not all. Wyncode will also be bringing back camps for high school students this summer – and perhaps college students.
“Seeing the need and interest with high school kids for technology education this summer also inspired us to re-launch Wyncamp which covers the same content remotely as the Tech.Hire bootcamps, but is designed for those who can afford to pay tuition. Based on interest, we may be adding a college-age cohort as well,” Mikkola said.
In addition to Wyncode, TechHire.Miami also partners with Miami-Dade and Monroe Public Schools, CBT College, Compu-Design USA, FVI School of Technology and The Academy of Florida.
