Winklevoss twins’ Gemini expanding to Wynwood

Gemini, the cryptocurrency firm backed by the Winklevoss twins, is expanding to South Florida. The New York-based firm signed a long-term lease for 8,840 square feet at 545wyn, in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood with move-in planned for early next month.

“Gemini’s decision to plant their flag at 545wyn speaks volumes about Wynwood’s evolution from an arts district to a magnet for top-tier technology and creative companies seeking a vibrant, walkable neighborhood,” said Juan Ruiz, vice chairman of Blanca Commercial Real Estate, which represented the landlord in the transaction. “Companies aren’t just chasing space here; they’re investing in an ecosystem designed to attract and retain top talent and drive growth.”

Located at 545 NW 26th Street, 545wyn is also home to Sony, PwC, MIAX, Gensler and Neocis. The 10-story office building, built in 2020, was developed by Chicago-based firm Sterling Bay. Gemini will occupy two of the three third floor suites. Building amenities include a fitness center, an expansive outdoor amenity deck, a paseo park, on-site parking, and open-air private balconies on every floor.

Founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, Gemini enables its users to buy, sell, convert and store cryptocurrencies. Gemini filed confidentially for an initial public offering earlier this year, Bloomberg reported in March.

Gemini’s tech-focused Wynwood neighbors include Amazon, which recently leased in 50,000+ square feet in Wynwood Plaza, as well as Claure Group, Founders Fund and Spotify.

DigitalDNA Labs unveils fitness platform

DigitalDNA Labs, a pioneer in AI innovation, has launched BodyBy.AI, a fitness platform that aims to transform the way people train, track progress, and stay motivated. Combining advanced machine learning with real-time biometric feedback, BodyBy.AI offers a hyper-personalized fitness experience available anytime, anywhere, and in over 29 languages, the Miami-based company said.

As the global fitness industry races toward a projected $4.3 billion valuation by 2030, BodyBy.AI aims to transform fitness from a one-size-fits-all approach into a deeply customized journey. The platform adapts in real time to each user’s needs, modifying workouts based on fatigue, progress, and feedback. It also delivers intelligent nutrition guidance, mental wellness support, and motivational reinforcement to promote consistency and long-term results.

“As AI becomes more integrated into our daily lives, we saw an opportunity to apply it to something incredibly personal–our health,” said Jason Inasi, founder and CEO of DigitalDNA Labs. “BodyBy.AI isn’t just a workout generator. It’s an intelligent fitness companion that learns and evolves with you to deliver smarter, faster results.”

The next evolution of BodyBy.AI will allow fitness professionals to create DigitalDNA Twins that capture their voice, expertise, and training style. These virtual trainers can serve clients around the clock, enabling new revenue streams without added time commitments. “This is a breakthrough for fitness professionals. Trainers can scale themselves–offering clients 24/7 access to their unique methods and motivation without sacrificing personal bandwidth,” said Inasi, who also joined Pitbull on stage for a keynote talk at eMerge Americas.

DigitalDNA Labs’ other innovations include CloneMe, which enables digital twins, Continuum, preserving personal legacies, and Luminaries technology, which brings historical figures to life, as seen in the Museum of Democracy.

Bezos tops South Florida Billionaires list

Jeff Bezos may be the third richest person on the 2025 Forbes World’s Billionaires List, but he’s South Florida’s richest by far. Fifty billionaires from South Florida (largely Palm Beach and Miami) made the list, with a number of repeat honorees. But there were four local newcomers: Christopher Ruddy, founder and CEO of a Boca Raton-based business Newsmax Media; Jersey Mike’s Subs founder Peter Cancro; Leonid Radvinsky, owner of OnlyFans, and Related Companies’ Stephen Ross, who is not new to the Forbes list but moved to Palm Beach from New York recently, the South Florida Business Journal reported.

This year’s South Florida billionaires made their fortunes across a diverse range of industries, from food and beverage companies to car dealerships. Financial services remains the leading industry among local billionaires, with around 20 executives primarily working in hedge funds and private equity. After Bezos, at a reported $215 billion, comes Interactive Brokers Thomas Peterffy at $57.3 billion; Citadel’s Ken Griffin at $42.3 billion, hedge fund owner David Tepper with $21.3 billion; and Stephen Ross at $18.4 billion.

Globally, the Forbes list reported a record-breaking 3,028 billionaires with a collective net worth of $16.1 trillion when the list was compiled, with Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg coming in at Nos 1 and 2. Seven of the world’s top 10 made their fortunes in tech. Read more here.

Carewell unveils online forum for caregivers

Carewell is on a mission to provide family caregivers with tools and resources to care for their loved ones. This week, Bianca Padilla, co-founder and CEO of the Miami-based online retailer, announced the launch of Carewell Community, an online forum is a space where caregivers can connect, learn, and share with others, and also receive guidance from Carewell’s Care Team.

“I know firsthand how lonely and isolating caregiving can be. It’s hard work, and finding someone to connect with who gets what you’re going through can make a huge difference. I wish something like this had existed when my mom and I first started caring for my grandma,” she said on LinkedIn.

Coco Robotics to launch delivery robots in Miami

Coco Robotics, a leading food delivery robotics company, announced that it is launching operations in Miami, starting with delivery partner Uber Eats. This announcement marks Coco’s entry into the Southeast market.

The service will initially launch in the Wynwood neighborhood and downtown Miami, with plans to expand to Brickell and Miami Beach in the coming months, as well as other areas throughout 2025. Through the Uber Eats partnership, customers will be able to receive their orders via Coco’s emissions-free robots. This builds on Coco’s existing partnership with Uber Eats in Los Angeles, where Coco Robotics has already completed over half a million deliveries since it began operations.

“Our expansion launch with Uber Eats marks a milestone in our mission to create a more sustainable and efficient delivery ecosystem,” said Zach Rash, co-founder and CEO of Coco Robotics. “Miami’s vibrant food and tech scene make it the perfect market for robotic delivery.”

When customers order through Uber Eats, from participating merchants in serviceable areas, they may have their orders fulfilled by Coco’s autonomous delivery robots. Customers who receive deliveries via Coco robots will have their tips refunded. “Autonomous delivery is a key part of our vision for the future of delivery,” said Megan Jensen, Head of Autonomous Delivery Operations at Uber.
