Friends of The Underline launches the first of three technology and Miami public-space themed conversations that explore how the public realm and social good can be served by human-centered technology. Headlined by the boldest thinkers in technology and public spaces, the series will take place outdoors on The Underline Sound Stage and Plaza presented by FPL for a socially distanced crowd.
Drinks and light bites from 6:00 PM , program begins at 6:30 PM. The event is free to the public but registration is required.

Moderator: City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez
- Kelly Jin – Knight Foundation. Kelly Jin is Vice President of Community and National initiatives. Most recently, she served as chief analytics officer for the City of New York and head of the Mayor’s Office of Data Analytics.
- Rohit Aggarawala – Cornell Tech. Rohit is a Senior Urban Tech Fellow at Cornell Tech and Sr. Advisor for Sidewalk Labs and UrbanSense, an NYC-based consulting firm specializing in the use of technology in public spaces.
- Jacky Wright – Microsoft. Jacky is the Chief Digital Officer at Microsoft USA. Jacky is a global technology leader who has made broad impact in business transformation and on social issues.
- Matt Haggman – Beacon Council. Matt is EVP of Beacon Council, where he leads One Community One Goal. He previously was Miami Director at Knight Foundation, where he created and built the foundation’s program aimed at propelling Miami’s tech and startup community.

About The Underline technology masterplan: In February, The Underline opened Brickell Backyard the first half mile of what will be our 120-acre linear, urban trail and public art destination under the Metrorail spanning from the Miami River to Dadeland South. Funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, The Underline is in the midst of developing a technology masterplan with the renowned New York City consulting firm UrbanSense.

Getting there: Take Metrorail to the Brickell Metrorail Station, exit north and walk to Sound Stage. Walk or bike (bike racks on The Underline as SW 1st Avenue and SW 1st Street) to Sound Stage. If you drive, please use nearby public parking lots at Brickell City Centre and Publix Mary Brickell Village.
