***6 Proven Best Practices to Make Your WordPress Projects Run More Smoothly***
We all manage projects every day. Whether it’s going to the grocery store, mowing the lawn, or repainting a bedroom. If “project success” is defined as those projects that are delivered on time, within budget, with features that meet the client’s (or your) business requirements, then you’re likely doing that in your everyday life, too.
But website development projects, specifically WordPress projects, have certain nuances and unique characteristics to consider.
In this session, we will explore how 6 Best Practices, proven over the past 30+ years, (AND that you’re likely already employing day-to-day), can be applied to your WordPress projects to make them run more smoothly. More specifically, you will learn how employing certain techniques can ensure you get paid for all you do, eliminate scope creep, and avoid project delays caused by the client.
Talk 2: Eric Diego
***Embracing the Power of Blocks: Developing for the Block Editor and Full Site Editing***
In this talk, we’ll explore the power of blocks and how this technology is changing the way users and developers interact with WordPress. First introduced in 2018 with version 5.0, the Block Editor (Gutenberg) has not been without controversy. Through the lens of my own journey building the Block Visibility plugin, we’ll address both the benefits and challenges of developing for the Block Editor and Full Site Editing.
While this talk does have a developer bent, it’s designed to be accessible to all WordPress users. The focus will be on showcasing the importance of block-based plugins and just how exciting this area of development can be. Blocks are the future of WordPress, and the future is bright.
We are joining forces with multiple WordPress meetups! Spend time with WordPress folks that you might not have met before. Some meetups that will be joining us:
