Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, together with Raymond Yuan, founder and chairman of Atlas, the global Web3 infrastructure service provider, announced today Miami will stage the inaugural MiamiWeb3 conference Nov. 28-30 at the Intercontinental Miami.

“Miami is now at the cutting edge of this revolution, and this annual web3 conference, strategically synchronized with the Art Basel Miami festival, will keep Miami at the forefront of web3 technology for the years to come,” the major said in his City Hal announcement.

The flagship conference, a partnership between Atlas and the City of Miami, will discuss the Web3 revolution and the latest trends and topics emerging around it, including digital asset markets, NFTs and Metaverses. The conference will take place strategically around Art Basel 2022, and feature talks with industry leaders including start-up founders, investors, and institutions. There will be a particular emphasis on how the Web3 revolution can spur green energy adoption and improved financial, health and educational outcomes for citizens, they said. It is expected to attract over 3,000 delegates and draw participants from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.

“When we talk about globalization, I see the next generation of globalization as the mass adoption of web3,” Yuan said at the press conference. With the conference, “we believe it is important to bring the ecosystem together to discuss and shape [web3] development in a sustainable and equitable way.”

Calling Miami “the hub for Web3, he said the new conference is also part of his company’s efforts to double down on the US market, with Miami as the global headquarters for the Singapore-based company. “We are fully committed to expand our business in the United States … and Miami is the place for our talent.”

More conference details will be announced in coming weeks. More info: miamiweb3.com.
