Could there be a company any more “Miami” than one that offers an AI-powered platform for cosmetic enhancement? I think not, and if that isn’t enough, this company – Bliss Aesthetics – is also co-founded by Dr. Miami himself.
“Through working firsthand in the industry, I’ve seen the need for a seamless consumer platform like Bliss. For physicians, the next-generation platform streamlines patient management and positions surgeons to deliver more precise patient outcomes and improve satisfaction,” said the celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer, who is also chief medical officer of Bliss. “It’s simply a game changer for cosmetic and plastic surgery.”
Investors must think so too. Bliss Aesthetics, a platform that uses AI to match patients with providers and visualize cosmetic surgical outcomes, announced today it has raised $17.5 million in seed funding to grow the platform. Shine Capital led the financing, with participation from Synchrony Ventures, Sheva Ventures, Point72 Ventures and Cerca Partners.
The company believes there is a big, growing market clamoring for this. The cosmetic procedure market is estimated to climb to $200 billion in revenue within 10 years. What’s more, one of every four Americans have already undergone a medical aesthetic procedure, and this is projected to grow 55% among American men.
“This funding will give us the ability to harness the momentum we are experiencing, building on the 500% growth of our provider base in our patient-to-physician app since our launch while expanding to five new states across the country. By combining intelligent matchmaking with AI tools, we equip patients to make informed, confident, and financially savvy decisions and give doctors the ability to deliver better outcomes to more patients with less administrative burden,” said Bliss CEO Gal Yosef, who co-founded the company with Salzhauer, in a statement.
The company’s proprietary “Bliss Imagine” technology uses generative AI, Stable Diffusion, and computer vision models to create personalized visualizations of potential surgical outcomes, enabling patients to realistically visualize their cosmetic enhancements. They can then select a board-certified physician who meets their expectations from a pool of contenders, access financing options, and receive real-time human help throughout their journey, according to the company. The platform has already improved patient engagement from 40% to 80%, Bliss said.
“We’re not just a player in the aesthetic space, we’re a pioneer, and we have an opportunity to reshape the entire industry,” added Yosef, a serial founder in the consumer space, in a LinkedIn post.
So far, the Bliss Aesthetics platform is available to patients in Florida, Texas, Illinois, Arizona, Michigan, and North Carolina. The company, with its origin in Israel and based in Bay Harbor Islands, was founded in 2022 and has about 40 employees. In total it has raised $17.8 million, according to Pitchbook.
“From the moment we met Gal and the Bliss team, we recognized that they had identified a massive market need – for physicians and their patients,” said Mo Koyfman, founder and GP at Shine Capital. “Cosmetic surgery is an area driven by demographics, and building technology tools to serve patients and providers helps the market develop while ensuring the highest-quality experience. Gal and the Bliss team are poised to create a category-defining technology platform and marketplace in this highly personal and massively growing space.”
