Drummond Advisors is setting out to simplify how international startups manage their U.S. operations and they’re not starting from scratch. Much to the contrary, they have joined forces with the experts already doing it.
The Miami-based cross-border advisory firm has acquired CuboStart, a local soft-landing and back-office services company that has spent years helping international founders build a presence in the U.S. The acquisition marks the launch of DYBO (Doing Your Back Office), a new AI-powered platform designed to help global startups handle accounting, HR, payroll, tax, and compliance more efficiently as they expand into the U.S.
“I’ve been doing this for twenty years,” CuboStart co-founder Fernando Cariello told Refresh Miami. “And what we’re offering through DYBO is what I wish I had when I first came to Miami: someone who actually understands how international companies work.”
CuboStart carved out a niche by serving as a bridge between Latin American startups and the U.S. market – helping companies land, incorporate, and stay compliant. Its model goes beyond outsourcing: it functions as a soft-landing partner that guides founders through every step of U.S. expansion, from legal structure and accounting setup to day-to-day operations.

Drummond Advisors, with more than 300 professionals across Miami, Boston, São Paulo, and Mexico City, brings scale, infrastructure, and technology to that hands-on approach. Together under DYBO, the two organizations aim to turn what’s usually a painful administrative process into something frictionless and strategic.
Cariello described DYBO as “a bridge between international founders and the U.S. business environment,” built to simplify the complexity of cross-border operations. “Most back-office providers in the U.S. don’t understand how international companies operate,” he said. “If you come from Brazil or Colombia or Spain, your corporate structure can be very different: BVIs, Caymans, holding companies. We know how to handle that.”
DYBO will combine Drummond’s cross-border expertise with CuboStart’s incubation-style support, enabling founders to pick the level of service they need, from full CFO oversight to targeted compliance help. “We want to make it self-service,” Cariello said. “Pick what you need, get instant access, and let the system handle the rest.”
Miami, he added, remains the perfect home base. “It’s the melting pot for Latin America,” he said. “Every company that wants to enter the U.S. passes through here first. We already work with organizations like SelectUSA, ApexBrasil, ProChile, and ProColombia to help companies land in the market. Now, with DYBO, we can do that at scale.”
DYBO’s new office sits at the corner of Biscayne and Flagler, overlooking the bay – a symbolic spot for a company helping founders bridge continents. The platform will also support U.S. firms expanding into Latin America, using Drummond’s existing footprint across the region.
“If a U.S. company wants to go to Brazil or Mexico, they come to Miami first to ask how,” Cariello said. “That’s where we step in.”
“The U.S. remains the top destination for global entrepreneurs,” commented Bruno Drummond, founder and partner at Drummond Advisors. “DYBO was born in Miami to make that journey faster, simpler, and more intelligent – turning the back office from a pain point into a growth driver.”
After decades helping others scale, Cariello echoed that the acquisition represents the natural next step in his mission. “What we’re building now is the product of twenty years of trial and error,” he said. “DYBO makes back-office operations something that helps your company grow, not something that slows you down.”
