JustInsurance offers pre-license education courses for aspiring agents, and it’s expanding in Miami

JustInsurance is an EdTech and InsurTech platform that helps prospective insurance agents get trained and licensed to sell life insurance and health insurance. Justin vom Eigen, the company’s founder and CEO, started the company in 2018 and began providing insurance education courses in 2022.

“We’ve really been pushing it publicly for the last few years,” said vom Eigen [pictured above]. “I wanted to make sure we had a refined product.”

JustInsurance is headquartered in Puerto Rico, but will soon have a location in Miami’s Brickell district. “We have a lot of agency partners that we work with who live in Brickell, so it’s just kind of a natural expansion area,” said vom Eigen, who also previously lived in South Florida.

JustInsurance’s platform uses AI-powered practice exams, interactive video content, and automated progress tracking to make pre-licensing and continuing education faster, more efficient, and engaging. “We work with agency owners who hire insurance agents and they use our courses for their candidates,” said vom Eigen, whose previous work experience was in selling cars.

Students using JustInsurance complete courses up to 30 percent faster than traditional ways, vom Eigen said. Agencies can view real-time dashboards that track their candidates’ performance.

Tens of thousands of people have already taken the courses offered by JustInsurance, he added. All of the clients are in the U.S.

The Brickell location will serve as a business development and training space, supporting professional workshops and networking events for prospective agents, local agencies and for those who work in the industry, vom Eigen said. “Opening here lets us meet students and partners face-to-face in one of the country’s most dynamic business communities.”

Vom Eigen wants to help position Miami as a national leader in insurance education and professional development and said he plans to collaborate with local community organizations to promote career readiness and financial literacy.

JustInsurance currently employs 15 people, working in marketing, programming, customer support and in managing clients. Vom Eigen said he plans to add another 25 employees to his Miami team over the next six months to a year, and that 35% to 50% of the new hires would be in tech forward jobs.

JustInsurance currently has a temporary office space in Brickell but plans to expand into a more permanent presence there in the next few months.
