NovoPayment, the Miami-based fintech that builds financial infrastructure across Latin America, has just announced that Rodrigo Rodas will step into the role of CEO.
Rodas brings years of experience in fintech and private equity. He is a co-founder of Rewardsweb, a loyalty rewards platform; and a managing partner at investment firm IDC Ventures, which is a NovoPayment investor. He replaces Anabel Perez, NovoPayment co-founder and founding CEO.
Alongside Rodas, NovoPayment is welcoming back a familiar face: Rama Ituarte, returning as CTO. Ituarte previously led NovoPayment’s tech strategy before moving to digital bank Synchrony, where he drove digital platform advancements.
“This is a pivotal moment for NovoPayment,” Rodas said in a statement. “We are committed to investing in the right technology, strengthening our platform, and delivering solutions that empower our customers to grow and innovate.”
NovoPayment operates in one of the most dynamic fintech markets in the world. Latin America’s financial sector is rapidly evolving, with banks and businesses demanding more agile, secure, and scalable solutions. The company’s core mission – streamlining digital payments and enabling financial institutions to scale – has become even more relevant as competition intensifies.
Under its new leadership, NovoPayment is trying to position itself as a key player in this transformation. The company shared that it is doubling down on technology investments, refining its platform, and expanding partnerships across the financial ecosystem. The return of Ituarte also points in this direction: With deep expertise in financial technology, Ituarte is expected to accelerate the company’s push to integrate the latest and greatest tech capabilities into its offerings.
“Financial institutions need infrastructure that can keep up with the pace of change,” Ituarte shared. “We’re focused on making sure our technology is not just keeping up but setting the standard for what’s possible.”
