Female hygiene can be difficult to manage – and with thousands of products and recommendations on the market, it may feel like a revolving door with no real solution. That’s how West Palm native Kimba Williams felt about it, anyway.
So, she decided to change that.
“At its core, Kushae is a consumer products goods business and is the only doctor developed natural product line for vaginal and vulvar hygiene,” said Williams, the CEO and co-founder of Kushae. “We want women to understand that, whenever they are looking for something for their health and hygiene down there, Kushae offers natural, safe, and effective products for women at any stage of her life.”
As a former sales representative for Coca-Cola, she drew on her experience with a company that excelled at global consumer sales when transitioning to the pharmaceutical sales industry. She believes the transition was a natural progression, as her time at Coca-Cola taught her everything she needed to know – she learned how to communicate effectively, establish trust, and build credibility – skills that ultimately prepared her for her next move as an entrepreneur.
Now, as the CEO and founder of Kushae, alongside board-certified OBGYN Barbara McLaren, Williams’ mission is to ensure that women around the world have natural and safe products for their feminine health – and she’s using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to achieve that.

“We quickly realized that there’s no running away from technology – even products companies are integrating technology to benefit customers,” Williams said. “At Kushae, we developed an AI-enabled quiz to personalize the product choices that women are trying to make for themselves.”
When users are ready to discover their ideal feminine hygiene routine with Kushae, they can simply click the “Take the Quiz” button on the homepage, which directs them to the AI-powered quiz. Participants will answer a series of questions about their needs, concerns, knowledge of feminine care, and more. At the end of the quiz, participants are then shown a recommended routine with Kushae products powered by AI and programmed with Dr. McLaren’s expertise.
“We programmed the AI quiz on the back-end with Dr. Barb’s brain to understand some of the habits that equate to the products we offer,” Williams said. “We also have metrics that we track on the backend – we know the top three complaints that women are having, and we use it to create new products for our customers. We also use the data to tailor messaging for women who are looking for additional education – it helps us become more focused and personalized.”
As one of the entrepreneurs chosen to participate in Endeavor Miami’s Spring 2024 Scaleup Cohort, and one of the first entrepreneurs to participate in Lightship Miami’s latest cohort, Williams says the resources and support she received from accelerators and leaders in South Florida has been unmatched.
“A wise person once told me you have to own your backyard – it’s an amazing feeling when folks in your own community are rallying you and recognizing your brand,” Williams said. “It’s invaluable to know that I’ve got an amazing network supporting me with resources and opportunities right in my own backyard.”
For the future, Williams and Dr. McLaren are looking forward to expanding their distribution across the nation and world with new, bold marketing campaigns. They’re also looking forward to launching a new podcast – Kushae Chronicles – as a way to get to the hearts of women and their needs.
“Everyone who has a ‘kushae’ has a story,” Williams said. “We’re standing on who we really are, and making sure that Kushae continues that for a lifetime.”
For other entrepreneurs looking to launch their own business, Williams says to enjoy the journey.
“Entrepreneurs take on so much responsibility, amidst everything else, that they sometimes forget to have fun,” Williams said. “You have to remember who you are and what brings you joy in life – and have fun while you’re working your dream. You won’t only have an amazing company, but you’ll have an amazing time doing it.”
