Look out, Uber and Lyft. There’s a new ride-sharing platform in town.
Vlue is officially launching in South Florida, offering on-demand and scheduled rides throughout Miami-Dade County with plans to expand across South Florida next year. The company promises lower, more predictable rates for riders and higher earnings for drivers without compromising on safety or service.
You may have seen Vlue around town. The company was founded in 2019 by Ron Pereyra and Igor Nunez in Miami, and they used the pandemic years to invest in its technology and user experience. Built and launched with the region’s unique traffic patterns, venues and airport flows in mind, Vlue started beta testing its app in late 2023 and refined the platform throughout 2024.
The company soft launched early this year, and to date Vlue has onboarded over 6,500 drivers and has seen a steady increase in rides by locals, according to the company.
For customers, Vlue says it won’t be using surge pricing or hidden fees. Drivers are extensively background checked, as are their vehicles. For the drivers, they will earn more than other platforms, Vlue says. Earnings will start at $2.25 per ride.
Benefits include a perks program for customers and a choice of six ride categories from budget-friendly rides to premium SUVs, plus business, pet-friendly, and large group categories: Vlue, Vlue Medium, Vlue Pet, Vlue Large, Vlue Executive and Grande SUV. A plan for freight may be in the plans.
“We designed Vlue to make getting around simpler and more transparent, while supporting the drivers and neighborhoods that power this region. With Vlue, riders get a modern, safety-first experience for lower prices, and drivers get a platform that respects their time with higher profits,” said Ron Pereyra, Vlue’s co-founder and chief revenue officer.
Vlue is now available in Miami-Dade County and it plans to expand into Broward and Palm Beach Counties by early 2026. To book a ride, download the free app, available for Apple and Android devices. For more information, visit vlue.com.
