Former X CEO Linda Yaccarino is now at the helm of eMed

Weeks after stepping down as CEO of X, Linda Yaccarino will be leading Miami-based eMed, a privately held health-management company.

The telehealth company is focused on o GLP-1s, a class of drugs including Ozempicused to treat diabetes and obesity. eMed’s population health management platform integrates at-home diagnostics, proctor-led screenings, physician-guided prescribing, and continuous adherence support.

eMed said in its announcement the hiring is key in its mission to make safe, effective chronic care accessible through its all-in-one, digital-first experience. “Her ability to forge game-changing partnerships and navigate complex markets will position the company to become the definitive global leader in population health solutions,” eMed said in a statement.

“The healthcare industry has been disrupted by technology, but not yet completely transformed by it. There is an opportunity to combine technology, lifestyle, and data in a new powerful way through the digital channels that impact consumers directly in ways that have never been done before,” said Yaccarino, in a statement.

“To be a leader in today’s healthcare marketplace, companies need to have a fearless tenacity that allows them to not only grow, but to also be brave enough to step forward and redefine an entire industry. We are very well-positioned to be that tenacious leader, striving toward our ultimate goal of improving global healthcare outcomes through our groundbreaking services and platforms,” she continued.

Yaccarino left X in July after a tumultuous two-year tenure as CEO, in which she repeatedly defended Musk while trying to convince advertisers to stay on the platform. She  departed after Musk merged X with his xAI artificial-intelligence company, but her departure was months in the making amid clashes with management, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Prior to leading X, Yaccarino was the chairman of global advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal, where she oversaw all aspects of advertising, partnerships and strategic initiatives, and helped to create a global cross-sell platform that has become an industry standard.
