The young women’s 3-on-3 basketball league Unrivaled is now valued at $340 million.
The Miami-based league announced today its Series B venture capital round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners and includes Serena Ventures, Warner Bros. Discovery and soccer player Alex Morgan’s Trybe Ventures. The size of the round was not disclosed.
Unrivaled, co-founded in 2023 by the WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, is a player-owned professional women’s basketball league innovating the women’s professional sports landscape with its model centered on investing in its athletes. The league launched in Miami in January 2025 and features top women’s basketball players in the world across six clubs for a 3-on-3, compressed full court style of play. Unrivaled’s second season will tip off in January 2026 and most of the games will continue to be played in Miami.
The new funding will be used to add more resources to the league’s facilities, for developmental efforts and to create additional awareness of the league as it heads into its second season.
“We want to make sure we’re growing but we’re also sustainable. We’re adding more teams to the fold, so we’ll be expanding our footprint with our resources and our facility in Miami, we’re adding more courts and more space for the players,” Unrivaled President Alex Bazzell told Bloomberg.
The new investment into Unrivaled is further proof of the rise of women’s sports in both popularity and valuations in recent years. CNBC reported that just a year ago the league was valued at $95 million.
“We believe Unrivaled is building the next great sports league. What impressed us most is the league’s outstanding business performance — achieving both rapid growth and impressive unit economics in its first year of operations — alongside its focus on both athlete advocacy and extraordinary fan engagement,” said Caty Rea, vice president at Bessemer Venture Partners. Bessemer has previously invested in ticketing resale site StubHub, as well as streaming services BallerTV and Twitch.
Unrivaled’s Series B round also included Trae Young, an NBA All-Star with the Atlanta Hawks, University of Maryland President Darryll J. Pines, sports executive Sam Rapoport, Franz Wagner and Moritz Wagner of the Orlando Magic, and Next Legacy Partners.
Refresh Miami reported that Unrivaled raised a $28 million Series A last December, also with a number of celebrity investors. While the amount of the latest round was undisclosed, the company has raised at least $61 million over three rounds, according to CB Insights. Venture capital data platforms report the most recent round at $26 million.
“It takes a village but we have one of the strongest villages in sports led by the most powerful women that also happen to be our athletes,” Bazzell shared on LinkedIn. “Excited for what’s to come!”
